Stand

“Stand” gives voice to someone who tried to prevent the conflict and now feels compelled to defend what cannot be surrendered. Driving drums and prominent guitars carry its defiance, while the lyrics retain the hurt beneath it. Every declaration bears the weight of a stand the narrator never wanted to take.

The words

Lyrics

I tried to pull it from the edge, Tried to stop what it became, Every truth got buried deeper, Every voice went up in flames. I watched the lines grow all around me, Watched them turn us side to side, And every time I tried to stop it- Something in me slowly died. You kept pushing past the limit, Till there was no space to turn, Every word became a weapon, Every truth you tried to burn. You kept feeding fear between us, Till it spread through everything, Turning doubt into division- Turning people into things. I begged for this to turn around… But you kept pushing anyway… You pushed me past the line! Now I have to stand! You bent the truth so far Till nothing else could stand! I tried to stop this fall! I tried to walk away! But when you came for everything- You left me no escape! You left me no escape! I held on to what was real, Even as it tore me down, And when it finally crossed that line- I refused to let it die. I never wanted this between us, Never wanted any war, But if I let you take it all- There’d be nothing worth fighting for. I wish it never came to this… I wish we never had to choose… But silence only feeds the fire- Till there’s nothing left to lose… You pushed me past the line! Now I have to stand! You bent the truth so far Till nothing else could stand! I tried to stop this fall! I tried to walk away! But when you came for everything- You left me no escape! I didn’t want this… But now I see… Some things survive… Only if we fight to keep them free…
